I just started using "Money Manager Ex" today, and overall it's a great program! It's very flexible (categories and sub-categories, splitting, reports) and fast.
Surely this is not a bug report, but a logic error/missing capability, so I posted here.
[EDIT: Someone already posted this issue, but I didn't notice because the topic was "need help":
Within the "Reports" sub-menu, the "To Whom the Money Goes" feature includes income in the calculations! It seems that the program should know only ougoing money would be counted.
Now, to track where money comes from, I did use the "Payees" list (because I didn't see a corresponding "Sources" list). So apparently it counts all money, whether Withdrawals or Deposits, as "going out". The only alternative would be to hand-type every source of income, which would take longer and lead to errors. (Plus there would be no way to track it.)
Could you please have this report only track outgoing money? (You could also have a "Sources" list instead, though for some people that might be a lot of duplication. I have some duplication -- I buy stuff where I work, I get refunds from the school which I pay, I have an online account for both buying and selling books -- so I think 2 lists is the lesser alternative because it's less efficient for the database.) I think the best idea is differentiating between incoming and outgoing money.
"Where the Money Goes" (category-based) and "Where the Money Comes From" do not have this issue.
