TOTRANSAMOUNT field

Can someone please explain the purpose of the TOTRANSAMOUNT field in CHECKINGACCOUNT_V1 and say under what circumstances it differs from the TRANSAMOUNT field.
In my database the two fields are identical, but this can't always be the case or there would be no point in having two fields.

Ah, i see, the reason why both fields are the same for me is because I never use the advanced option of entering a different amount for the two fields on the New / edit Transaction form.
I've never used this option because I don't know what it's for, I think I'll ask that question on the Support forum.
